Heita! is busy taking shape. Both design and functionality are being improved upon with every commit, which is really exciting for us as web people. See, usually, a website is designed, then developed and then finally released. Heita!'s production process is totally different and new to us.

Design

Our original design for the site was good. We were happy with it as it was, and moved into the development of the website. Through this development process we learned some new things, got a few extra tricks, which our design never catered for. WE suddenly found ourselves with elements needing design, but nothing we did worked with what had already. So decision time came onto us (again). We needed to decide whether to redesign or rework the design. We opted for the latter, mostly as a challenge, since just redesigning the website would be the easy way out and while you probably would not have noticed it as much, we would not have learned anything new, and would not have grown. So, small, ridiculously tiny design changes have open up the entire design canvas for us. In design, every element is related to some other element, and a tiny thing can influence a big other thing. Amazing no?

So, small design changes have been made and the entire flow of Heita! has been improved. We are sort of developing and designing at the same time, which might not be the best way, but it sure is diferent and way exciting!

Import

We begin importing our old stuff into the new site tommorow morning. There are some hesitation and concerns with this, and we do expect things to go awry. If you are reading this, then it either hasn't happened yet or worked 100%.

What next?

Well, we don't have a homepage yet. We do, but there's not much to show you yet, and it's incomplete without content. This is our next big thing to do. Once content is imported we can finish of our homepage and launch it to you guys!
